Here's the entry for The Station Bar from the same guide:
A handsome pub with a large circular bar, unpretentious decor and an older local clientele. Extremely relaxed and friendly – no problems getting into conversation with your neighbours. No question of a TV dominating the proceedings — it's drowned out. Not overly clean, except the toilets which are a shining example other pubs should follow. In comparison with the bar, the upstairs lounge is quiet, plush and boring.
Highly recommended as a community meeting place if you live in the area. Play dominoes and try the McEwans eighty bob. To add the authentic Scottish touch to the end of the evening, there's an excellent Chinese carry-out over the road.
Love the snippet from the 70s pub guide. More please.
Methinks the lassie was confusing the Station Bar with the Artisan.
